Meet Aperture At Aperture, we create value and drive growth by delivering exceptional product consultancy and advertising services to our global partners. Through data-driven strategies, we combine performance marketing, creative strategy, product optimisation, CRM, analytics and experimentation to help ambitious companies scale. Founded in 2022 by Hannah Parvaz, Aperture has quickly made waves. Already recognised as Business Consultant of the Year and named 2024’s Most Innovative Growth Agency, we’re now building the team that will take us into our next stage of growth. We work with some of the most exciting apps, platforms and digital products in the world. Our job is not just to make things look good. Our job is to make growth happen. Our culture Growth mindset. We’re hungry to learn and improve. Take full responsibility for every outcome. No excuses. Obsess over results. We’re here to make a measurable impact. We’re data-obsessed. We let numbers, not opinions, guide our decisions. Client success is our success. Period. No ego. The best idea wins, regardless of who it comes from. Radical candour. We give and receive honest feedback to fuel growth. No job is too small. We support each other and JFDI. Work from anywhere We’re remote-first and impact-first. Work from wherever you’re most productive, while staying closely connected to the team through regular collaboration, team sessions, client work and in-person meetups. We also bring the team together for retreats, events, conferences and working sessions around the world. Travel to team meetups is covered. You must be able to work in a UK timezone. The role We’re hiring a Video Editor to create brilliant, high-performing content for our clients and Aperture. You should be chronically online, in the best possible way. You know what people are watching, sharing and talking about. You spot emerging formats before every brand starts copying them. You understand why a video holds someone’s attention, when an edit feels native and when something feels too polished, too slow or painfully corporate. You’ll turn raw footage, creator content and creative concepts into paid social ads and organic content that people actually want to watch. This isn’t a role where you simply wait for footage and follow instructions. We want someone who brings references, suggests ideas and helps make every concept stronger. What you’ll do Edit paid social ads, UGC, creator content and short-form organic videos. Turn raw footage into compelling stories with strong hooks, pacing and structure. Create multiple versions of concepts to test different openings, messages, formats and lengths. Add captions, music, sound design, graphics, transitions and motion where they improve the work. Adapt videos for TikTok, Reels, Meta, YouTube Shorts and emerging platforms. Keep up with trends, creators, sounds, memes, editing styles and wider internet culture. Bring relevant references and proactive ideas into creative discussions. Work closely with creative strategists, designers, performance marketers and creator managers. Use performance results to improve future edits and iterate on winning ideas. Use AI and emerging creative tools to make production faster and more ambitious. Keep projects, source files and versions organised across multiple accounts. Requirements You’ll be great at this if You have a strong portfolio of short-form video work. You understand how to earn attention within the first few seconds. You have an instinct for pacing, storytelling, humour, tension and timing. You can edit quickly without the work feeling careless. You understand the visual language of TikTok, Instagram, Meta and YouTube. You know the difference between using a trend well and arriving after it is already dead. You’re confident using Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar tools. You can take inconsistent or imperfect footage and find the strongest possible edit. You take feedback well, move quickly and aren’t precious about your work. You care about how your work performs, not just how it looks. Experience editing performance ads, UGC or creator-led content is a strong advantage, but exceptional social-first work matters more than a particular background. This is not the role for you if You don’t spend much time on social platforms. You only want to work on polished brand films or long-form productions. You need every shot and transition mapped out before you can begin. You prefer perfecting one video to producing and testing multiple strong versions. You’re interested in making beautiful videos but not whether people watch or act on them. You’re uncomfortable receiving frequent, direct feedback. What success looks like in six months Our videos feel current, native and distinctive. Strong concepts are being turned into multiple testable edits quickly. Winning hooks, structures and formats are being identified and iterated. Editing is increasing the speed and quality of our creative output. Performance learnings are consistently influencing new work. The team trusts you to bring ideas, spot opportunities and deliver excellent work. Benefits Work from anywhere, with flexibility around how you structure your day. Direct exposure to high-growth clients and meaningful work. Regular team meetups and retreats, with travel covered. Access to conferences, events and industry sessions. Small team, high ownership and fast progression. Before you apply We read every application. Show us the work that best represents your editing style, particularly short-form content, paid social, UGC or creator-led videos. We’ll also ask a few questions about what you’re watching, what you think is working and how you approach an edit. Specific, honest answers matter far more than polished ones. We can tell when something is generic.
