Job Description The Audit Learning and Development Manager is responsible for building the firm’s audit capability by designing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive learning and capability development strategy. The role ensures that learning interventions strengthen technical competence, professional judgment, audit methodology application, and audit quality across all levels of the practice. Working closely with the Audit Training Head, Audit Leadership, Audit Quality, Methodology teams, technical reviewers, and subject matter experts, the role translates audit quality priorities, inspection findings, regulatory developments, recurring engagement issues, and workforce capability gaps into practical, scalable, and measurable learning solutions. Key Responsibilities A. Learning Strategy & Capability Development Develop and maintain a comprehensive audit learning strategy and competency framework aligned with the firm’s audit methodology, quality priorities, and business objectives. Design structured learning pathways that support career progression and capability development across all audit levels. Conduct organization-wide training needs analyses to identify technical, behavioral, and professional capability gaps. Recommend annual and multi-year audit learning priorities based on engagement feedback, inspection findings, quality reviews, regulatory developments, and emerging business needs. Develop competency frameworks that define the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required across different audit career stages. B. Curriculum Design & Learning Solutions Design and oversee role-based development programs, technical curricula, and continuous learning initiatives. Translate audit methodology, technical standards, and practice requirements into engaging, learner-centered instructional programs. Develop structured learning journeys incorporating classroom learning, virtual learning, coaching, simulations, case studies, assessments, and on-the-job reinforcement. Ensure all learning content remains technically accurate, practice-relevant, and aligned with current auditing standards and firm methodology. Establish quality standards for facilitator guides, participant materials, assessments, learning documentation, and digital learning resources. C. Audit Quality & Stakeholder Partnership Partner closely with Audit Leadership, Audit Quality, Methodology teams, Partners, Directors, Managers, and Subject Matter Experts to identify capability priorities and drive learning interventions. Translate inspection findings, root cause analyses, recurring engagement issues, and quality review outcomes into targeted capability-building initiatives. Ensure learning programs directly support improvements in audit quality, engagement execution, professional judgment, and documentation standards. Build strong relationships across the practice to influence adoption of learning initiatives and embed a culture of continuous development. D. Program Governance, Analytics & Continuous Improvement Oversee the end-to-end execution of audit learning programs, ensuring objectives, timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements are achieved. Coordinate with learning operations and administrative teams to ensure effective scheduling, attendance management, CPD compliance, LMS administration, and learning documentation. Leverage LMS platforms, digital learning technologies, virtual learning tools, and learning analytics to enhance learner experience, scalability, and reporting. Analyze learning data, assessment results, engagement quality indicators, completion metrics, and learner feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. Monitor recurring capability gaps following training interventions and recommend reinforcement, coaching, curriculum enhancements, or additional learning solutions. Prepare management reports and dashboards on learning effectiveness, capability trends, program outcomes, compliance, and future learning priorities. Drive continuous improvement of audit learning programs through data-driven insights, innovation, and best practices in adult learning. Qualifications and Experience A. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred. Other relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CA, ACCA) are an advantage. B. Audit Experience 5 years of progressive external audit experience , preferably within a Big 4 or large professional services environment. Experience in engagement supervision, coaching, audit methodology application, quality initiatives, inspection readiness, or technical review is highly preferred. Strong understanding of external audit engagements, professional judgment, audit documentation, client management, and engagement execution. C. Learning & Capability Development Experience Experience in learning and development, capability building, instructional design, facilitation, curriculum development, coaching, or technical training is preferred. Candidates with strong audit expertise and demonstrated passion or aptitude for developing people will also be considered. D. Technical Knowledge International Standards on Auditing (ISA) Philippine Standards on Auditing (PSA), where applicable IFRS/PFRS and financial reporting Audit methodology and engagement lifecycle Audit quality and inspection findings Root cause analysis Adult learning principles Competency framework development Assessment design and evaluation E.
