Bookkeeper Full-time | Work from home | Australian business hours (AEST) About The Company We are a well-established Australian business with an experienced, close-knit team. The company is owner-operated, financially stable and has been trading successfully for many years. You will work remotely as part of a small finance function, reporting directly to management. About The Role We are looking for a reliable Bookkeeper to keep our day-to-day accounts accurate and up to date in Xero. The work is steady and largely transactional: reconciliations, supplier bills, customer payments and payroll. What matters most to us is accuracy and consistency — books that are clean at the end of every week without anyone having to chase you. We would rather hear about a problem early than discover it at month end. Key Responsibilities Daily and weekly bank, credit card and payment reconciliations in Xero Accounts payable — entering and coding supplier bills, preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements Accounts receivable — issuing invoices, allocating receipts and following up outstanding accounts Processing Australian payroll, including superannuation and STP reporting Maintaining the general ledger with accurate and consistent coding Assisting with month-end close and preparing figures for BAS Keeping records and supporting documentation organised for the external accountant Raising discrepancies rather than processing them through What you will need 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, including at least one year supporting an Australian business Hands-on experience with Xero Strong bank and account reconciliation skills Working knowledge of Australian GST, BAS basics, superannuation and STP Good Excel or Google Sheets skills Accurate, organised and dependable with deadlines Clear written and spoken English Desirable Experience running Australian payroll end to end Ecommerce or wholesale experience, including reconciling online payment gateways Exposure to inventory and cost of goods Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, or equivalent What we offer Full-time, permanent position, working from home Competitive Salary A long-term role in a stable business, not a short-term contract Direct access to management and genuine ownership of your work Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, aligned to Australian Eastern Standard Time.
