Hours: Flexible, ongoing freelance work About Us Do you have an excellent eye for detail and exceptional written English? We are a UK-based provider of professional online education, producing high-quality educational content within the dog behaviour sector. We're looking for a highly accurate and detail-oriented Video Caption Editor to help ensure our educational videos are professionally captioned before release. This is a remote freelance position with flexible working hours and ongoing work available. About The Role This is not a transcription role . You'll spend your time watching professional educational videos while reviewing automatically generated captions and correcting any errors. The videos cover fascinating topics in dog behaviour, learning, welfare, and psychology. Our educational content occasionally includes scientific terminology, technical language, author names, book titles and references to check, so you'll need to confidently research unfamiliar terms to ensure they are accurate. Work is provided in regular batches and can be completed around your own schedule, provided agreed deadlines are met. Video lengths vary from approximately 5 to 90 minutes . Perfect for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality results. Responsibilities Review automatically generated captions while watching educational videos. Correct words, spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting. Ensure captions accurately reflect the speaker's intended meaning. Research and verify specialist terminology, scientific vocabulary, author names, book titles and other technical references where required. Produce clear, accurate and professional captions suitable for educational content. Complete work within agreed deadlines. Make minor amendments if any corrections are identified during quality assurance. Hours: Flexible freelance work. Work is provided in batches as new educational content becomes available. We anticipate regular work over the coming months, although the number of hours available will vary depending on our content production schedule, with ongoing opportunities expected for the right candidate Essential Requirements Exceptional written English with near-native fluency. Excellent attention to detail. Outstanding spelling, grammar and punctuation. Strong research skills and the ability to verify unfamiliar terminology independently. Reliable internet connection and computer. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsive to messages and able to complete agreed work within deadlines. Desirable Experience Previous experience with caption editing, subtitle editing or transcription. Experience working with educational, scientific or technical content. Experience using online video captioning or subtitle editing software (training will be provided).
