Contract Type: Independent Contractor (25 Hours per Week) 25,000 Php/month Schedule Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST (flexible) Location: Remote Portfolio Required: Yes Cover Letter Required: Yes About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Adobe InDesign Specialist with strong layout design capabilities to join our publishing team. This role is ideal for someone who excels at creating professional, publication-quality layouts for print books, ebooks, magazines, catalogs, other multi-page documents, and marketing collateral . If you enjoy transforming content into polished publications—and have an exceptional eye for typography, page composition, and editorial design—we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Layout & Typography: Design and format complex multi-chapter print books and ebooks, catalogs, brochures, reports, and manuals using Adobe InDesign . Template Development: Build and use InDesign templates with master pages and style systems to optimize creative efficiency. Print Production: Transform concepts into impeccable, print-ready files utilizing proper color profiles, bleeds, and marks. Prepare files for specialized print finishes, including foil stamping, spot UV, custom binding, and other advanced production techniques. Digital Publishing: Execute optimized digital documents and interactive ebooks featuring functional hyperlinked elements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with writers, editors, and marketing teams to implement revisions and ensure visual strategy alignment. Collaborate with writers, editors, and project managers to bring content to life. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of document proofs to verify layout integrity and typographic accuracy. Required Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required) A minimum of 3 years of experience in the publishing industry (required) Demonstrated experience creating complex multi-page publications, including books, ebooks, magazines, catalogs, and similar design products Strong understanding of: Editorial layout Typography Grid systems Prepress requirements Print and digital production Demonstrated experience preparing files for commercial printing and ebook publishing Make revisions efficiently while maintaining layout integrity Use press checks/print quality assurance processes Export InDesign Books as EPUB files for ebooks High proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including: Adobe InDesign (expert) Adobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop Adobe Acrobat Pro Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with print-on-demand, direct-to-consumer platforms such as IngramSpark, Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), and Barnes & Noble Press Experience with EM Software DocsFlow and WordsFlow plugins for Adobe InDesign Strong understanding of branding and marketing design Portfolio Requirement (Required) A portfolio is required to be considered. Your portfolio should clearly demonstrate: Advanced Adobe InDesign expertise Print book production work Ebook production work Multi-page publication layouts (magazines, catalogs, brochures, reports, etc.) Strong typography and editorial layout skills Applications without a portfolio showcasing relevant InDesign book publishing work will not be considered. You are a detail-oriented, visual storyteller who can produce polished, publication-ready documents on or before deadlines.
