Marketing & Design Specialist About BBG BBG supplies industrial and medical gases, hydraulic hose assemblies and industrial products throughout Bermuda. We’re building on a long history while investing in the future. Under new leadership, we’re strengthening our people, systems and technology to build an organisation that becomes stronger over time. The Opportunity This is a hands-on marketing role for someone who combines excellent judgement with the technical skills to produce excellent finished work. You will be primarily responsible for BBG’s marketing function, from understanding the problem or opportunity through execution and evaluation. Your work will span design, copywriting, website content, email marketing, paid advertising, print, radio and other channels where appropriate. We’re looking for someone interested in why marketing works: how customers make decisions, what makes communication effective and how different marketing channels can be used to solve business problems. This isn’t a role where you’ll manage a marketing team or hand your ideas to other people to execute. You’ll need the hands-on capabilities to take work from idea through finished execution. AI will be an important part of how you work. We expect you to use it extensively where it makes you better and faster. But AI is a tool, not the finished product. You’ll be responsible for evaluating its output, improving it and combining it with your own technical skills and judgement to produce excellent work. Who We’re Looking For Above all, you exercise good judgement and produce excellent finished work. You: Have a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality design, marketing or creative work. Have strong design and visual communication skills and can personally create polished materials. Write very well in English and have a solid foundation in copywriting. Understand marketing fundamentals and are curious about how customers make decisions. Are comfortable working with websites, email marketing, paid advertising and other digital marketing tools. Can interpret marketing data and use it to improve your decisions. Use AI effectively while applying your own judgement and technical skills to ensure the finished work meets a high standard. Take responsibility for results, communicate openly and follow through on commitments. You have a love of learning. When you don’t know something, you don’t pretend—you learn, ask questions, seek help when needed and figure things out. Our current marketing technology stack includes Figma, Canva, Slack and modern AI tools. Experience with these tools—or comparable alternatives—is expected. What Success Looks Like Within your first year, BBG’s marketing should be noticeably better because you’re here. Our materials should be more professional and consistent. Our communications should be clearer and more persuasive. Customers should find it easier to understand what we offer and the value we create. Our campaigns should become increasingly informed by evidence about what works. Better systems, reusable assets and thoughtful use of AI should also allow us to produce better marketing with greater speed and consistency. Ultimately, the standard is the finished work and whether it works. Compensation US$1,300–1,500 per month , depending on experience and capability. Full-time remote position. Hiring Process Our hiring process is designed to help both you and BBG determine whether we’re likely to be a strong long-term fit. Application & Portfolio Review → Online Assessment → Short Video Response → Interview One → Paid Practical Assessment → Review of BBG’s Operating Manual → Final Interview → Offer Your portfolio will be an important part of our selection process. We’re more interested in what you can actually produce, the judgement behind it and what you personally contributed than in impressive job titles. Email your resume and portfolio to hr@bbgetc.com with subject line: Marketing & Design Specialist Application - [Your Name] During the process, we’ll discuss work you’ve personally created and the thinking behind it. Candidates progressing to the practical stage will complete a paid assessment based on a real BBG business scenario . You’ll be able to use AI and other tools just as you would in the role. We’ll evaluate your judgement, execution and use of the tools available to you—and, most importantly, the quality and effectiveness of the finished work.
