We're looking for a highly organized Construction Bookkeeper to support our accounting team as we continue transitioning from cash-basis to accrual accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys structured work, thrives on accuracy, and wants to become part of a growing U.S. construction company. This position focuses on bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial data entry, and accounting support, not financial strategy or client-facing sales. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing recurring accounting tasks while collaborating with the team through Microsoft Teams. Key Responsibilities Perform daily bookkeeping and accounting data entry Maintain accurate records within QuickBooks Online (QBO) Assist with accrual-based accounting processes Reconcile company credit card transactions and vendor accounts Retrieve and organize invoices from vendors and suppliers Work with spreadsheets and financial reports in Microsoft Excel Maintain organized accounting documentation Prepare daily work summaries and prioritize upcoming tasks Collaborate with internal accounting staff using Microsoft Teams Learn and utilize company-specific software, including AccuLynx Qualifications Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Required experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Required experience with U.S. accrual accounting Experience supporting U.S.-based companies Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills Highly organized, structured, and detail-oriented Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work Excellent written communication skills Construction bookkeeping experience is preferred but not required Pay & Benefits This is an independent contractor engagement and is not a W-2 employee position. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and statutory obligations where applicable.
