Job Title: Payroll Specialist Location: Remote Compensation $5/hr Schedule Full-time | Flexible on payroll processing days About Us We are a fast-growing home services company operating across Texas and Oklahoma under United States Home Services and Lee's Air. We provide HVAC, plumbing, insulation, and other home improvement services while building a high-performing team focused on accountability, accuracy, and growth. Role Summary: We’re looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and ensure our employees, sales representatives, and subcontractors are paid accurately and on time. This role will handle payroll, commissions, invoices, reconciliations, and payroll records. Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and on time for W-2 employees and 1099 subcontractors Review timesheets, hours, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions Calculate and reconcile commission-based pay Verify subcontractor and installer invoices before payment Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors Set up new employees and maintain accurate payroll records Process raises, role changes, terminations, and other payroll updates Maintain payroll documentation and confidential compensation information Assist with payroll tax filings, W-2s, and 1099s Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll records Respond to employee questions regarding pay and commissions Requirements Minimum 2 years of hands-on payroll processing experience Experience processing payroll for multiple U.S. states; Texas and Oklahoma experience is a plus Experience handling both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors Experience with commissions, bonuses, or other variable pay Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including lookups and reconciliation Knowledge of overtime rules, garnishments, and payroll deadlines Excellent English communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Able to handle confidential payroll information with discretion Experience with payroll platforms such as Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, QuickBooks Payroll, Rippling, or similar Reliable remote work setup and full-time availability Bonus: Experience in home services, HVAC, construction, solar, roofing, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or commission tracking.
