MOVE Your Business is proud to represent Jasmine Daya & Co., a Toronto-based law firm that has transitioned from civil litigation into cross-border private lending law. The firm now advises Canadian lenders and industry professionals on expanding into the U.S., including market entry, licensing, regulatory strategy, and business structuring. It operates as a fast-paced, entrepreneurial practice combining legal services with business development, education, and industry engagement. On behalf of Jasmine Daya & Co, we are seeking an experienced Litigation Law Clerk to provide remote support to Jasmine Daya & Co., a Canadian law firm. The successful candidate will have prior litigation experience working with a law firm based in Canada or the United States. A law degree from the candidate’s home country is desirable but not required. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing court deadlines, and capable of preparing professional legal documents with limited supervision. Note: Please submit your resume in English so we can effectively assess your qualifications Benefits Competitive salary Strong support system Health benefit (CAD 40/month) Training materials for upskilling provided Paid holiday leaves (depending on the holidays that the client observes) Paid sick leaves (sick leave convertible to cash if perfect attendance) Paid planned leaves Internet Allowance (CAD 30/month) Key Responsibilities Litigation Document Preparation Draft and prepare notices of motion, affidavits, certificates of service, confirmation forms, and other litigation documents. Draft, organize and compile Motion Records, Affidavits of Documents and documentary productions. Document & Evidence Management Review client files to identify documents and evidence required to support the case. Review, organize and maintain client records, documentary evidence and production lists. Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic litigation files. Records & Information Retrieval Prepare requests for medical, employment, income, insurance, government and other relevant records. Follow up with record holders by phone and email to obtain outstanding documentation. Organize and review records received for use in litigation. Court Filing & Service File court materials through applicable electronic filing systems. Serve court documents and correspondence on opposing counsel and other parties. Prepare and maintain proof of filing and service. Litigation Scheduling & Coordination Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, motions, hearings and other litigation attendances. Coordinate availability among clients, opposing counsel, court reporting services, court staff and other parties. Monitor limitation periods, court deadlines and litigation calendars. Communication & Case Coordination Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, service providers and third parties. Coordinate information and documentation required to keep matters progressing. Legal & Administrative Support Provide general litigation and administrative support to lawyers and the legal team. Ensure correspondence, records and court documents are properly saved, tracked and maintained. Requirements & Qualifications: Previous experience as a litigation law clerk, paralegal, legal assistant, lawyer or similar legal professional Experience working with a law firm based in Canada or the United States; Practical knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements; Experience preparing Motion Records, Affidavits of Documents and other litigation materials; Strong legal drafting, proofreading and document-formatting abilities; Excellent written and spoken English; Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail; Ability to manage multiple files, priorities and deadlines simultaneously; Ability to work independently in a remote environment and provide timely updates; Strong judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information; and Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and electronic document-management systems. Ability to work Monday through Friday during the required Eastern Time hours. Two professional references and a valid criminal background check issued within the last 60 days are required for all successful applicants. Completion of intake paperwork, including submission of a valid tax identification number (e.g., Social Security Number, Social Insurance Number, or the country’s equivalent), is required prior to onboarding. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ontario civil litigation; Familiarity with the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and Ontario court forms; Experience using Ontario’s electronic court filing platforms; Experience working on personal injury, insurance, commercial or general civil litigation matters; and A law degree from the candidate’s home country.
