What You'll Do Backend engineering Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power enrollment, billing, and learning across our brands, including our shared @anchored/core library and per-brand services. Work across a multi-database architecture — Supabase (centralized identity), per-brand PostgreSQL on DigitalOcean, MongoDB, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 — and keep data consistent across them. Own and harden the integration spine connecting our enrollment, CRM, payments, and ERP systems (Phoenix, Zoho, PayMongo, Dynamics), with a focus on reliable syncs, data integrity, and graceful failure handling. Build secure, observable, well-tested services with strong attention to performance and reliability. Full-stack development Build user-facing features end to end — from database and API to UI — for enrollment portals, e-commerce (Medusa.js), and internal tools. Partner with product and design to turn requirements into clean, maintainable interfaces using modern frameworks (TypeScript, React/Next.js). Agentic AI Design, build, and maintain AI agents and chatbots — support assistants, program recommenders, and adaptive learning tools — integrated into our products. Work with LLM APIs (OpenAI and alternatives we evaluate), implementing tool use / function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-step agentic workflows. Build and orchestrate automations using n8n and similar tooling. Apply solid prompt engineering and evaluation practices, and build AI systems that are cost-aware, monitored, and governed. Our Stack You'll work with — and help shape — a stack that includes Node.js / TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Supabase, DigitalOcean, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zoho (SalesIQ / CRM), PayMongo, Medusa.js, n8n, and LLM APIs such as OpenAI. Experience with every one of these isn't required — depth in several, and the ability to learn the rest, is. What We're Looking For Must-have 5\+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend depth. Proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript (and/or Python) and solid REST API design. Hands-on experience with relational and document databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and integrating across multiple data stores and third-party systems. Practical experience building or integrating LLM-powered features or AI agents — not just calling an API, but designing reliable, useful AI behavior. Comfort owning features end to end, including frontend work with modern JS frameworks. Strong fundamentals: version control (Git), testing, code review, and CI/CD. Clear communication and the ability to work independently within a collaborative, cross-functional team. Nice-to-have Ed-tech experience or a genuine interest in education. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 integrations, the Zoho ecosystem, or payment gateways (PayMongo or similar). Workflow automation (n8n) and e-commerce (Medusa.js) experience. Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, and agent orchestration frameworks. Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
