Work Arrangement: Remote Schedule Night Shift | US Time Zone About the Opportunity STAFFVIRTUAL is looking for an Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of a hospitality and entertainment business. This position will take ownership of core accounting activities for a waterpark operation, with a strong focus on financial accuracy, timely reporting, month-end close, and effective coordination with both accounting and operational teams. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working hands-on with accounting details while also providing meaningful financial insights to management. What You’ll DoAccounting & Financial Operations Take ownership of the general ledger and the month-end close process. Review account reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and other accounting support prepared by the team. Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and properly supported. Oversee accounting activities related to payables, receivables, billing, collections, and cash activity. Review revenue activity and reconcile attendance and point-of-sale information. Review vendor payments and larger disbursements in accordance with established procedures. Reporting & Business Analysis Prepare and review monthly financial reporting for management and ownership. Investigate significant variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts. Identify trends, unusual activity, and opportunities for improved financial performance. Turn accounting data into clear recommendations that can support operational and business decisions. Work with operational leaders to understand financial results and key business drivers. Planning & Process Improvement Coordinate the annual budgeting process with accounting and operations. Assist with ongoing forecasting and cash flow planning. Monitor liquidity and identify potential cash flow concerns. Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend ways to improve efficiency, consistency, and accuracy. Help strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls as the business continues to grow. Team & Stakeholder Management Lead, support, and develop accounting team members. Establish clear expectations for accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work. Provide review and guidance on complex accounting matters. Partner closely with operations, leadership, and other stakeholders. Communicate financial information clearly to individuals without an accounting background. Audit, Tax & Compliance Coordinate external audit activities and provide requested documentation. Manage the preparation and organization of audit support materials. Help ensure accounting practices remain aligned with GAAP and company policies. Oversee applicable state sales tax filing requirements. Support the maintenance of an effective internal control environment. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience managing or reviewing the work of other accounting professionals. Strong background in full-cycle accounting and financial close activities. Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and financial modeling. Experience working with Oracle NetSuite . Familiarity with RocketRez and Toast POS is highly desirable. Hospitality, attractions, entertainment, or similar industry experience is an advantage. CPA designation is preferred.
