Spanish to English Medical Interpreter – Remote Work Setup: Remote Employment Type: Contract / Freelance Job Overview We are seeking fluent Spanish-English Medical Interpreters to provide accurate, professional, and confidential consecutive interpretation between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate should have strong command of both Spanish and English, medical terminology knowledge, and previous experience in medical interpretation or translation. Key Responsibilities Provide accurate Spanish ↔ English consecutive interpretation during healthcare consultations. Interpret medical terminology, symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, medications, and other healthcare information. Facilitate clear communication between patients and healthcare professionals. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and professional ethics. Provide cultural mediation when language or cultural differences may affect patient care. Document interpretation sessions when required. Stay updated on medical terminology and healthcare practices. Remain neutral, professional, and accurate during sensitive conversations. Must-Have Qualifications Fluent in Spanish and English , both spoken and listening. Previous experience in medical interpretation or professional translation . Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Understanding of healthcare communication and patient-provider interactions. Excellent communication and active listening skills. Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Reliable internet connection and suitable remote-work environment. Strong commitment to confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Medical Interpreter certification or formal interpreter training. Experience working with hospitals, clinics, healthcare providers, or telehealth services. Experience with telephone or video interpretation.
