ABOUT YOU You own the brand. You are accountable for whether the brand is seen, remembered, and talked about. You think in campaigns, not posts. You can start from a business objective, work backwards to a concept, map it across platforms, brief the creative, run it live, and tell everyone honestly afterwards whether it worked. You know each platform has its own logic. What earns reach on TikTok dies on LinkedIn. You do not reformat one asset five ways and call it a rollout. You have a strong sense of brand. Voice, visual consistency, and tone are things you actively protect, and you notice when something is off before anyone else flags it. You brief creatives well. Designers and video editors get a clear objective, a reference, a format, and a reason, so the work comes back close to right the first time. You read the data properly. You know the difference between a metric that flatters and a metric that matters, and you can explain the difference to someone who does not want to hear it. You have worked in a startup, so you are comfortable building from a thin starting point. Small budget, small team, no established playbook, and you still find a way to make noise. You are online enough and inside the industry to know what is happening now. Trends, formats, platform changes, and what competitors are doing, without needing a newsletter to tell you a week late. You are decisive under pressure. When a post lands badly or a comment thread turns, you know when to respond, when to hold, and when to escalate. THIS ROLE IS NOT A GOOD FIT IF YOU Need a content calendar handed to you before you can start Measure your work in volume of posts rather than results Treat every platform the same and repost identical assets across all of them Are uncomfortable presenting numbers that show a campaign underperformed Avoid the comments section or find community management beneath you Cannot brief a designer or editor clearly and end up doing endless revision rounds Wait for approval on every decision instead of working within an agreed strategy Are precious about your ideas and defensive about feedback Have only run organic content and have never touched paid Go quiet when a campaign is not working Miss agreed deadlines without flagging them early Are looking for part-time, freelance, or project-based work Plan to hold this alongside another full-time role Want something temporary while you look for a permanent position Responsibilities Strategy and planning Own the social media strategy across all active platforms and align it to business objectives Build and maintain a rolling content calendar covering campaigns, always-on content, and reactive opportunities Monitor competitors, category trends, and platform changes, and adjust the approach accordingly Campaign delivery Concept and run integrated social campaigns from brief through to post-campaign review Brief designers, video editors, and copywriters with clear objectives, formats, references, and deadlines Manage campaign timelines so assets are ready ahead of launch, not on the day Plan and manage paid social activity, including audience targeting, budget allocation, and optimisation Coordinate influencer, partner, and collaboration activity where relevant Content and brand Protect brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across every channel Write and edit platform-appropriate copy, including captions, hooks, scripts, and short-form video concepts Adapt content to the native format of each platform rather than duplicating assets Maintain an organised asset library so approved content is easy to find and reuse Reporting and analysis Produce weekly and monthly performance reports with clear insight, not screenshots of dashboards Run post-campaign reviews covering what worked, what did not, and what changes next time Use performance data to inform the next content and campaign cycle Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, media, advertising, multimedia arts, or a related field.
