Job Description About The Role We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join a small product team building a data-heavy SaaS platform. This role starts approximately three months from now, once the backend is running and producing real data. You will be building against a live API from day one - not mock data. This is a part-time contractor engagement at approximately 15 hours per week. Philippines-based candidates may be engaged as local employees through our Philippine entity. What You Will Be Doing: Building and maintaining dashboards that display complex, real-time performance and analytics data Implementing real-time data interfaces using WebSockets Integrating with REST APIs including proper loading states, error states, and empty states Building data visualization components - charts, trend lines, and before/after comparison views Working from detailed written specifications without needing a designer for every screen Submitting regular written progress updates to the product owner This role has a planned two-phase work arrangement. During the initial build phase, you will be expected to work full-time for approximately the first 2–3 months as we build and launch the platform. Once the initial development phase is complete, the workload is expected to transition to approximately 15 hours per week on an ongoing basis. Must-Have Skills React - 3+ years in production applications Redux- 3+ years in production applications 5+ years of experience as a frontend engineer Tailwind CSS - efficient, production-level use of utility classes Data visualization - charts, trend lines, real-time updating data displays WebSocket integration - you have built real-time data interfaces in production REST API integration - fetching, caching, error handling, and all three data states (loading, empty, error) Experience building complex, data-heavy dashboards - not primarily marketing sites or e-commerce Nice to Have Experience with Recharts, Chart.js, or similar React charting libraries Background in SaaS analytics, reporting, or performance dashboard products Experience displaying large datasets in the browser without performance issues Familiarity with behavioral or performance data visualization Non-Negotiables Data-heavy dashboard experience is required. Marketing sites, landing pages, and e-commerce UIs do not qualify for this role. WebSocket production experience is required. The platform requires real-time interface updates. All three data states - loading, empty, and error - must be handled on every view. Happy-path-only builds are not acceptable. You must be able to work from written specifications without requiring open-ended creative direction on every screen. IP assignment agreement and NDA must be signed before any system access is granted. You will not communicate directly with other developers. All coordination goes through the product owner.
